This beautiful Ginko Artist Photo book shows the work of two Haiku Photographers Stewart Wall and Robert Herringshaw, who are both associates of the Royal Photographic Society.
Working totally seperately, with the only instruction to go for a slow ‘ginko’ walk through the churchyards that are near where they live 150 miles apart, they create 15 images each, and then use each image to inspire 15 haiku.
They visited the churchyards on the morning of November 28th 2021 and the final book was designed and printed and back in their hands using Fleet Street timing by December 4th – less than a week.

This special first edition Ginko Artist Photo Book is the very first Ginko book, and is beautifully produced in full colour showing colour and monochrome images. Sized 148mm x 148mm, the design is inspired by the famous Paidon55 book series that each showcased the 55 most iconic images of the world’s most famous photographers.
Rather than 55, each Ginko book has 32 images, which in this case, since two artists are involved means 16 by each, and each photograph has a unique haiku inspired by, and written for it. It is 32 because generally a western Haiku has 17 syllables, and the number of images plays tribute to this, since (5×5)+7 =32
